MILLBURY — Commission on Disabilities examines persistent accessibility failures across municipal and commercial sites. Chairperson Michael Kennedy reported that talking crossing signals at Main and Elm Streets remain inoperative despite prior notification to Public Works Director Matt Stencil, and that only one of four locator beacons at the intersection is functioning. Handicap parking symbols at Spark Millbury, 65 Canal Street have been obscured; the Subway Restaurant entryway lacks required railings; and push buttons at Dunkin Donuts, 1 Elm Street, are broken.
Kennedy said he will pursue additional follow-up with Assistant Building Inspector Jason Shilinsky and confirm that Town Hall is the commission's priority site for remaining ADA grant funds.
