Finance Committee approves $18,750 reserve transfer for payroll coordinator.
Finance Committee · Meeting of March 4, 2026
MILLBURY — Finance Committee shrinks town deficit to $606,000 and approves payroll transfer. CFO Katie McKenna reported that correcting the Warren Street pump station debt accounting eliminated $194,000 of the original $800,000 shortfall, and a $108,000 increase in local receipts projections further reduced the gap. The Committee unanimously approved an $18,750 Reserve Fund transfer for unforeseen payroll staffing costs.
The School Department agreed to hold $490,000 in cuts pending enrollment data from Blackstone Valley Tech due next week, and Chairperson Charles Cooper will meet separately with the vocational school to review its assessment formula and potential layoff impacts.
