MILLBURY — Finance Committee opens FY2027 budget review with new CFO Katie McKenna. Town Manager Karyn Clark presented a first draft holding departmental increases to 2.5 percent while warning of steep cost pressures: health insurance rising 20 percent for active employees and 15 percent for retirees, Worcester County Retirement assessment up 10.4 percent, and a new $40,000 HR Benefits Coordinator position to replace retiring administrator Rick Bedard. The committee approved the minutes of its prior meeting unanimously and will convene again Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at 6:30 p.m.
School roof debt service has not yet been fully budgeted and will impact the tax levy in 2027.
