MILLBURY — Finance Committee heard briefings on school gymnasium repair project, with funding sources uncertain. Town Clerk Nicole Levay-O'Brien, who began in July, presented her department's budget and noted that Professional Development funding, currently $250, will likely require an increase in FY28. Interim Finance Director Vanessa Hill reported the gymnasium project began work on the meeting day with completion targeted for Thanksgiving, and insurance covering only depreciated costs, leaving potential funding sources unresolved if costs exceed reimbursement.
The committee discussed a planned Special Town Meeting in November and addressed a lapsed Finance Committee seat on the Capital Plan Committee.
