Finance Committee reviews departmental budgets ahead of capital plan

Millbury Finance Committee heard departmental budgets and discussed capital priorities with $3,269,102 in Certified Free Cash available. CFO Katie McKenna reported a 7.2 percent increase in Animal Control funding, Health Department expenses rising $700, and noted that 23 capital projects have been ranked, with Fire Department radio infrastructure and repeater equipment scoring highest. Fire Chief Mark Strom reported only one full-time position in the department despite rising call volume, and utilities costs have surged sharply across town buildings.
The committee deferred Emergency Management Agency discussion and adjourned at 8:31 p.m.
