Fire Engineers approve academy books, recruit gear, and equipment tests

Millbury fire board approves recruit gear and new equipment testing. The Board of Fire Engineers unanimously purchased new recruit academy books and Class B shirts for academy recruits at the May 18 meeting led by Chief Mark Strom and Deputy Chief Peter Balkus. The board authorized testing of an electric-vehicle fire nozzle and approved an iPad setup proposal from 1st Assistant Jason Cadrin.

The board scheduled a full department meeting for June, deferred review of a generator service contract, and tabled department photos until Fall; department maintenance remains pending including Engine 1 pump repairs and late-June pump testing.
