Millbury Library Trustees accept Carnegie grant of $10,000. The board unanimously approved the unrestricted gift from the Carnegie Corporation of New York, one of approximately 1,280 awarded to historic Carnegie-built libraries across the nation to mark the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. Director Ann Dallair reported steady adult program attendance and noted State Aid received a 2 percent increase approval from Governor Maura Healey; the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners is reinstating statewide databases for genealogy and language learning.
Budget constraints prompted the board to cut cost-of-living adjustments for non-represented employees, with additional reductions planned.
