Millbury Posts Unofficial Primary Results, Seeks Resilience Volunteers as Schools Reopen

Millbury posted unofficial results from Tuesday's state primary on the town website, closing out weeks of guidance on early voting and polling locations. The town also opened a call for volunteers to help shape its climate resilience planning, and Millbury Public Schools confirmed students return to class Wednesday.

Separately, the town is recruiting community liaisons for Millbury's Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness 2.0 Core Team. The News Flash post calls for residents "passionate about connecting with members of your community and advocating for community needs" to help shape Millbury's resilience planning as part of the volunteer core team.

SCHOOLS

Millbury Public Schools students head back to class Wednesday, Sept. 2, following two days of staff professional development at the junior-senior high school. In a welcome-back message posted to the district site, administrators said buildings are ready for the 2026-27 school year.

Raymond E. Shaw Elementary School sent its own back-to-school update to families and guardians ahead of Wednesday's opening, and school counselors circulated first-day schedule information for students and families.

COMING UP

The Conservation Commission meets Wednesday, Sept. 2, the same day Millbury students return for the new school year. The library and municipal offices close for the Labor Day weekend from Saturday, Sept. 5 through Monday, Sept. 7.
