Millbury Remains Under Significant Drought Designation, State Says

Millbury remains under a significant drought designation as the state's Aug. 7 assessment confirms persistent dryness across the Central Region, a status that continues to guide local water-use and mosquito-control planning heading into the fall.

The Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs, under Secretary Rebecca Tepper, has kept the Central Region, which includes Millbury, in a significant drought level as of its Aug. 7 update. The designation typically informs the town's approach to conservation messaging and its Mosquito Control Program, both flagged on the town's own website as active resources for residents.

The Millbury Housing Authority is scheduled to meet Wednesday, Aug. 26. Election administration also continues this week, with the town conducting advanced removal of early and absentee ballots for the Sept. 1 state primary, part of ongoing preparations the town has been detailing in recent days.
