Millbury Schools Cut Nature's Classroom Cost by $50 for Sixth Graders
MILLBURY — Millbury Public Schools sixth-grade families will pay $50 less per student for this fall's Nature's Classroom trip after a successful June fundraiser, while Town Hall rolled out a new digital-literacy program for seniors and the Conservation Commission opened a call for a new member.

The town has launched a partnership with GetSetUp, a platform that lets Millbury seniors take live and on-demand classes alongside other older adults to build digital skills, according to a News Flash posted to the town website. Details on signing up are available through the town's website.
Separately, the Conservation Commission is looking to fill a vacancy on the board, which oversees protection of Millbury's wetlands, lakes, ponds and streams. Residents interested in serving can find application information through the town's website.

Millbury Public Schools told sixth-grade families that thanks to their participation in a Nature's Classroom fundraiser this June, the cost of attending the outdoor-education program this fall will be reduced by $50 per student under updated pricing, the district said in a note posted to its website.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
The Millbury Public Library's Summer Reading program remains open to all ages through August 8, with participants able to sign up, earn prizes and take part in special events that require separate registration, according to the library's website. The library also flagged plans to expand its "Digital Navigators" help sessions, which pair patrons with staff for hands-on assistance with smartphones, printing and downloading e-books, though it said class scheduling is still to come.

The Conservation Commission meets Wednesday, July 22. The School Committee's Policy Subcommittee meets Thursday, July 23. The Town Manager Screening Committee and the Board of Fire Engineers both meet Monday, July 27, according to the town's online calendar.
