School Committee approves Mara as Business Manager with one abstention
School Committee · Meeting of May 28, 2026
MILLBURY — School Committee appoints Patrick Mara Business Manager with one abstention. Superintendent Gregory Myers recommended Mara, who has worked in Millbury schools since 2007 and most recently served as Assistant Business Manager; the Committee voted 4-0-1, with Michael Taber abstaining after filing a conflict-of-interest disclosure stemming from a prior disciplinary matter involving Taber's child. Taber later raised concerns about the lack of a formal hiring process, but the Committee deferred further discussion to executive session.
The Committee also unanimously confirmed Christine Warren as Title II Grievance Officer and Title VI Officer, and tabled the appointment of Elizabeth Boutiette as Title IX Coordinator pending executive session discussion of Christine Pugliese Savage's unspecified concerns.
