School Committee approves prior minutes, hears state budget earmarks.

MILLBURY — The Millbury School Committee unanimously approved prior minutes and heard combined state budget earmarks of $175,000 from Senator Michael Moore ($125,000) and Representative Paul Frost ($50,000) designated for a wheelchair van, Elmwood Street security cameras, pre-apprenticeship training, and unrestricted district use. Director of Instructional Technology Jeffrey Berthiaume presented a Five Year Technology Plan emphasizing artificial intelligence and device replacement, while Director of Food Services Mandi Donaldson reviewed cafeteria upgrades and new meal service guidance from DESE. The Committee accepted a revised Wellness Policy as first reading for return at its April 23 meeting.
Assistant Superintendent Richard Bedard reported that roof and HVAC project bids at two schools came in $4.2 million under the $19.7 million appropriation, allowing the town to reduce FY'27 borrowing costs.
