Millbury School Committee rescinds diploma presentation approval after relationship misrepresented. The Committee had approved on May 28 an instructional assistant Cheryl Schonberg to present a diploma to a graduating student described as her niece; Chairperson Christopher Wilbur moved reconsideration after learning Schonberg is a close family friend with no blood relation. Kristen Birch and Michael Taber switched votes from yes to no; Jessica Bristol held yes.
The rescission passed 3-1. Simultaneously, the Committee unanimously approved two other Elmwood Street instructional assistants--Nicole Ouellette and Kimberly Cadrin--to present diplomas to their own graduating children under Policy IKFB.
