Millbury Water Board Approves Two Sewer Connections
Water · Meeting of September 22, 2026
Millbury's Water Commission approves two sewer hookups, eyes a $1.5 million solar array. Members unanimously renewed a drainlayer's license for Robert Clark, doing business as Clark & Mott Inc., and approved sewer connections for a long-delayed duplex at 26 Sycamore Street and a home near Lake Street. The sewer superintendent, now doubling as Millbury's acting town manager, pitched a 560-kilowatt solar array expected to cost roughly $1.5 million but cut the department's $100,000 annual electric bill to about $10,000, aided by a 30 percent federal tax credit and a $257,000 grant.
A generator on North Main Street will go out to bid after an insurance probe ruled out lightning damage, leaving the repair uninsured. Citing the superintendent's town hall workload, board members discussed cutting their twice-monthly meetings to once a month, pending a Town Counsel opinion, saying "his time is going to be valuable by the second to the town."
