Board of Fire Engineers approves IAR/CAD system upgrade

Millbury Fire Engineers approve new dispatch system and water rescue equipment. The Board of Fire Engineers unanimously approved adoption of a CentralSquare IAR/CAD system at a one-time cost of $1,560 and $1,400 annually, on motion from Deputy Chief Peter J Balkus, pending approval from Chief Lewis. The board also unanimously authorized purchase of water rescue equipment including vests, throw bags, deployment bags, and carabiners.
The board accepted Firefighter Raffa's retirement and cleared Firefighter Jumper to operate any engine after completing driver and pump training. Chief Mark C Strom led the four-person meeting, with 3rd Asst Chief Robert A Silver, Jr., listed as absent.
