Planning Board · Meeting of October 26, 2026

MILLBURY — The Millbury Planning Board opened public hearings on six zoning articles for the November 12 special Town Meeting but put off any recommendation votes until November 9, citing the absence of two of its five members. Chairman Bruce DeVault led discussion on articles covering solar installations, floodplain rules, off-site parking and split-zoning fixes in West Millbury and Maple Street, plus a citizen petition to allow gyms and personal-services businesses in industrial districts. Resident Steve Stearns told the board roughly 675 Millbury properties could fall within an expanded flood zone under FEMA maps due in early 2027, and warned that a proposed solar bylaw would let the building department, rather than the Planning Board, approve some projects "straight to the building department," stripping public review of inverter noise.

The board unanimously endorsed an ANR plan for 40 Tainter Hill Road, continued the 211 Riverlin Street site plan review to December 14, and approved its September 28 minutes.
