Selectmen approve $500,000 for high school gymnasium repair

Millbury Selectmen approve $500,000 for high school gym damage. The Board of Selectmen unanimously authorized emergency spending to repair water damage caused when equipment fell on the sprinkler system during HVAC repair work. Finance Director Katie McKenna said the town will fully fund the expenses through a fall Town Meeting appropriation.
In other business, the board voted 3-1 to approve a license transfer allowing Bash & Jax at the Wheelock Inn to operate at 82 Wheelock Avenue as a seafood restaurant, with Clerk Nicholas Lazzaro abstaining. The board also unanimously appointed Ashley Casello to the Conservation Commission and approved the poll workers list through July 2027.
