Katie McKenna, Finance Director, informed the Finance Committee that she will be leaving her position in approximately five weeks. Before her departure, McKenna reported completing a budget software overhaul, adding an Assistant Town Accountant and a new Payroll Benefits position to strengthen departmental capacity.
The town's undesignated fund balance sits at approximately $2.5 million for capital items, with total stabilization funds around $10 million. McKenna also noted that the Board of Selectmen has authorized deficit spending for High School repairs following water damage, with insurance expected to cover portions of the $500,000 repair bill.
