Board of Selectmen · Meeting of August 20, 2026
Millbury's Board of Selectmen voted to extend Interim Town Manager Nicole Valentine's contract to September 11, 2026, to cover a leadership transition. Clerk Nicholas Lazzaro and a board member identified only as "Brian" confirmed "yes" votes on the roll call; a third vote was inaudible on the town's recording. Valentine told the board she met that morning with an unnamed incoming candidate who will "tag team everything" with her before fully taking over the week of September 11.
She also said the finance director's office was "still waiting to hear if the free cash was balanced." The board considered but declined to schedule an August 25 special session, opting instead to present a public transition plan at its regular September meeting.
