Finance Committee · Meeting of October 14, 2026
Millbury's Finance Committee voted to recommend $375,000 for a library HVAC overhaul and sent a $2.8 million sewer solar request to the Sewer Commission. The interim town manager told the committee the library project, pegged at roughly $910,000 total, hinges on a $500,000 Green Communities grant decision expected in January or February, warning "this project really hinges on getting that grant." The committee voted 6-0 to recommend the library funding, with Nicole Cooney absent. A separate $2.8 million draw on the sewer stabilization fund, which holds $4.2 million, would fund a solar array at the main pump station; Chair Charles Cooper noted the Sewer Enterprise Fund is "not funded by the property tax levy" and deferred the recommendation to the Board of Sewer Commissioners on a unanimous vote.
The panel also voted 6-0 to take no position on six zoning articles, referring them to the Planning Board, and approved its September 9 minutes.
